Parenting Support for Families Facing Unique Challenges

Parenting is one of the most rewarding and challenging roles in life, and when your child is navigating additional hurdles, it can feel overwhelming. At Arvada Therapy Solutions, we specialize in supporting parents like you—parents who want to help their children thrive despite the challenges they face.

How We Support Parents

We offer compassionate, practical guidance tailored to families facing:

  • ADHD and Executive Functioning Challenges
Parenting a child with ADHD often requires unique strategies to foster emotional regulation, structure, and resilience. We help you understand your child’s brain and create routines that reduce stress for both you and your child.
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Every child on the spectrum is unique, and so is your parenting journey. Our therapists can help you build connection, manage sensory needs, and navigate the complexities of raising a neurodiverse child.
  • Parenting Kids Who Have Experienced Trauma
Trauma impacts a child’s behavior, emotions, and relationships in profound ways. Our trauma-informed approach equips you with tools to support healing and build safety and trust in your relationship with your child.  We have specific training in working with parents of children who have experienced child abuse/neglect and sexual abuse, medical trauma, and bullying.
  • Divorce and Family Transitions
Divorce can be a tough adjustment for kids and parents alike. We provide tools to help children process their emotions while empowering you with strategies to maintain stability and connection during this time of change.
  • Co-Parenting in High-Conflict Situations
Co-parenting can be challenging in any situation, but especially when conflict is high and the family court system is involved. We work individually with parents to navigate communication, manage stress, and focus on your child’s well-being.
Get the support your family needs today!  Please call 303-551-9072 to schedule an appointment.

Why We Do Not Offer Court-Ordered Co-Parenting Counseling in High-Conflict Cases

At Arvada Therapy Solutions, we recognize that high-conflict parenting cases often involve significant power imbalances or patterns of coercive control. In these situations, co-parenting counseling that brings both parents together can be ineffective or even harmful.
When power dynamics are unequal, working collaboratively in therapy is contraindicated, as it may perpetuate the imbalance or undermine the safety and well-being of one or more parties. For this reason, we do not offer court-ordered co-parenting counseling for high-conflict cases.

Instead, we provide individual support tailored to your unique situation. Our focus is on helping you regain a sense of stability, learn effective communication strategies, and prioritize your child’s emotional health in the face of these challenges.

Will Insurance or Medicaid Cover Parenting Support?

Whether insurance or Medicaid will cover parenting support depends on the nature of the service and the presence of a covered diagnosis. Parenting support sessions may be covered in some cases, such as:

  • If the parent is addressing their own mental health concerns, such as parenting through depression or anxiety.
  • If your child is a client in our practice and has a diagnosis, parenting support sessions to assist with their care may also be covered.

These are just examples, and coverage can vary based on your specific situation and your insurance plan. Please discuss this with our intake coordinator during your consultation to explore your options.

If parenting support services are not covered by your insurance or Medicaid, we offer affordable alternatives. Our Masters Level interns provide high-quality therapy at a reduced fee to ensure support remains accessible for all families.
