Why We Do Not Offer Court-Ordered Co-Parenting Counseling in High-Conflict CasesAt Arvada Therapy Solutions, we recognize that high-conflict parenting cases often involve significant power imbalances or patterns of coercive control. In these situations, co-parenting counseling that brings both parents together can be ineffective or even harmful.
When power dynamics are unequal, working collaboratively in therapy is contraindicated, as it may perpetuate the imbalance or undermine the safety and well-being of one or more parties. For this reason, we do not offer court-ordered co-parenting counseling for high-conflict cases. Instead, we provide individual support tailored to your unique situation. Our focus is on helping you regain a sense of stability, learn effective communication strategies, and prioritize your child’s emotional health in the face of these challenges. |
